Remember the “Gang of Assassins” episode? Certainly you haven’t forgotten the theme song refrain, “Go Speed Racer / Go Speed Racer / Go Speed Racer, GO!” Three generations of children have grown up with this bizarre and sometimes violent Japanese cartoon import. Created by Tatsunoko Productions in 1966, 52 episodes were dubbed in English in 1967, and were broadcast in syndication for the next 20 years throughout North America. In the 1990s both MTV and the Cartoon Network re-ran episodes introducing another generation of kids to the Speed Racer cast that included Speed, Pops, Racer X, and Trixie.
